OK, so it's a puff piece… but clearly
the insiders are concerned enough about 2012 becoming a social
phenomenon that they're building counter-arguments…
IT USED TO BE
ALL ABOUT THE YEAR 2000
I don't doubt for a minute that many writers are trying to cash in
on 2012 — and sadly, more often than not it is all doom and gloom,
as the headline of this USA TODAY article indicates: "Does Maya
calendar predict 2012 apocalypse?"
I remember reading Nostradamus books back in elementary school,
circa the early 1980s, which all treated 2000 as if it were a point
of no return… drawing on Nostradamus' infamous quatrain that starts
with, "In the year 1999 and seven months, from the sky will come the
great King of Terror." The legendary HBO special on Nostradamus,
narrated by Orson Welles, took the statements in this quatrain as a
clear prophecy of a nuclear exchange.
As a young kid it basically scared the crap out of me, and that was
a major impetus to my starting to research these subjects when I was
still 7-8 years old.
As I would learn in my early 20s, the Cayce Readings also suggested
the end of the millennium could be a final turning point… though in
his case the prophecy centered around the year 1998.
CAYCE READINGS
ON 1998 MAY HAVE BEEN A 'NEGATIVE GREETING'
As you can read in
The Shift of the Ages, the Cayce Readings
described a two-fold event that included a pole shift and the
"Second Coming of Christ," which was said to occur in a large
variety of souls awakening, rather than just one central Messianic
figure. Thus, Cayce's descriptions of the "Second Coming" fit with
many other related Ascension prophecies.
However, these 1998 Cayce readings were brought through from an
entity that named itself 'Halaliel'. This appeared in hindsight to
have been a negative entity that was allowed to infringe on the
group, since they had unwittingly invited such an intrusion by the
misuse of their free will. I had powerful dreams and readings that
suggested Halaliel was allowed to get through because Cayce had
gotten too frustrated and angry with skeptics and naysayers.
Any scholar of the Law of One series knows that if you want to be a
channel, and you don't rigorously live by the principles in your
message, you open the door to crippling negative greetings —
including the possibility that your source could be completely
replaced by a negative entity impersonating the original positive
contact.
Unfortunately, this appears to be the hidden story behind the vast
majority of channeled works out there today. Suffice it to say that
if I haven't explicitly mentioned a source on this site in a
positive way, it's probably because I see clear examples of this
phenomenon. The clearest giveaway that this has happened, as per the
Law of One series, is when fear and doom-oriented material starts
coming through, tying cataclysmic events to specific dates and
encouraging people to try to 'survive' whatever is coming.
PERHAPS
SOMETHING COULD HAVE HAPPENED,
BUT WAS SUCCESSFULLY THWARTED…
Anyway, getting back to the point, thanks to these core statements
from
Cayce and
Nostradamus, the two most documented psychics of
modern history, along with a host of others, all the prophecy books
of the 80s and even into the 90s jumped on the same bandwagon, it
seemed. In almost every case, 2000 was the end of the line.
Enough high-quality intuitive data pointed to an upheaval around
1998-2000 that I do feel we avoided something that COULD have
happened. From the Science of Peace perspective, Earth Changes are a
result of our collective disharmony projecting into the world… and
in my third Convergence volume,
Divine Cosmos, I give a
rigorous outline of how this could be occurring.
The lack of huge upheaval in the 1998-2000 time period strongly
suggests we have been evolving at a higher degree of quality than
these prophets may have seen at the time. The future is flexible,
and the best use of prophecy is when it thwarts a negative future
from happening.
LAW OF ONE
SERIES SAID THE SAME THING…
BEFORE ALL THE MAYAN
CALENDAR BUZZ!
Nonetheless, I find it interesting that the Law of One series, as of
the early 1980s, never flagged 1998-2000 as being of interest, but
rather went to the time window of 2011-2013. As I have so often been
saying, the Law of One model does NOT preach doom and gloom
whatsoever… in fact, it makes it clear that we are headed into the
most amazing, unprecedented surprise in the history of humanity on
this planet.
The
Law of One passages on 2011-2013 occurred without ANY reference
to the Mayan Calendar. I don't even know if anyone in the group was
aware of it at the time, because it would almost certainly have been
brought up in Don Elkins' questions otherwise. The temptation for
him to have said something like "How does your date correspond with
the purported end of the Mayan Calendar" would not only have been
far too tempting, it would have been simple common sense… but in
1981 people weren't writing about this yet — most prophecy books
were still all focused on 2000.
Though I'm sure there were some obscure books out there on
the Mayan
Calendar, it really seems that Terence McKenna kicked off the
2012
buzz with his material on "Timewave Zero". This material has since
been revealed to be of questionable validity, and I had extreme
synchronicities early in my online career where every time I tried
to visit his site, my computer would completely go dead — no power,
black screen, et cetera. I was being steered away from taking it
seriously, and after three or four of these power-downs in a row, I
got the message.
MAINSTREAM
MEDIA TRIES TO COUNTER THE 'SPIN'
Now that more and more people are turning on to the idea of a
possible event in the 2011-2013 timeframe, the mainstream media has
taken the surprising and unusual step of making their own
disclaimers. This is NOT random and not an accident… the American
media is so controlled that authentic journalism is rarely seen
except in alternative Internet sources.
In my opinion, this article would NEVER have made it into print
unless it had been concluded, by "Management," if you will, that
there was a real potential for '2012 Fever' to spread much farther
and wider than we have seen thus far… in much the same way that the
facade of lies around the 9/11 event are crumbling very rapidly,
including Rosie O'Donnell's stunning turnaround as a "9/11 Truth"
supporter… another event I plan to write more about in a future
section of "The Revealing".

Does Maya calendar predict 2012
apocalypse?
by
G. Jeffrey MacDonald
Special to
USA TODAY
With humanity coming up fast on 2012, publishers are helping
readers gear up and count down to this mysterious — some even
call it apocalyptic — date that ancient Mayan societies were
anticipating thousands of years ago.
Since November, at least three new books on 2012 have arrived in
mainstream bookstores. A fourth is due this fall. Each arrives
in the wake of the 2006 success of
2012: The Return of
Quetzalcoatl, which has been selling thousands of copies a month
since its release in May and counts more than 40,000 in print.
The books also build on popular interest in the Maya, fueled in
part by Mel Gibson's December 2006 film about Mayan
civilization, Apocalypto.
Authors disagree about what humankind should expect on Dec. 21,
2012, when the Maya's "Long Count" calendar marks the end of a
5,126-year era.
Journalist Lawrence Joseph forecasts widespread catastrophe in
Apocalypse 2012: A Scientific Investigation Into Civilization's
End. Spiritual healer Andrew Smith predicts a restoration of a
"true balance between Divine Feminine and Masculine" in
The
Revolution of 2012: Vol. 1, The Preparation. In 2012,
Daniel
Pinchbeck anticipates a "change in the nature of consciousness,"
assisted by indigenous insights and psychedelic drug use.
The buildup to 2012 echoes excitement and fear expressed on the
eve of the new millennium, popularly known as Y2K, though on a
smaller scale, says Lynn Garrett, senior religion editor at
Publishers Weekly. She says publishers seem to be courting
readers who believe humanity is creating its own ecological
disasters and desperately needs ancient indigenous wisdom.

"The convergence I see here is
the apocalyptic expectations, if you will, along with the
fact that the environment is in the front of many people's
minds these days," Garrett says. "Part of the appeal of
these earth religions is that notion that we need to
reconnect with the Earth in order to save ourselves."
But scholars are bristling at
attempts to link the ancient Maya with trends in contemporary
spirituality. Maya civilization, known for advanced writing,
mathematics and astronomy, flourished for centuries in
Mesoamerica, especially between A.D. 300 and 900. Its Long Count
calendar, which was discontinued under Spanish colonization,
tracks more than 5,000 years, then resets at year zero.
"For the ancient Maya, it was a
huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycle,"
says Sandra Noble, executive director of the Foundation for
the Advancement of Mesoamerican Studies in Crystal River,
Fla. To render Dec. 21, 2012, as a doomsday or moment of
cosmic shifting, she says, is "a complete fabrication and a
chance for a lot of people to cash in."
Part of the 2012 mystique stems from
the stars. On the winter solstice in 2012, the sun will be
aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in
about 26,000 years. This means that,
"whatever energy typically
streams to Earth from the center of the Milky Way will
indeed be disrupted on 12/21/12 at 11:11 p.m. Universal
Time," Joseph writes.
But scholars doubt the ancient Maya
extrapolated great meaning from anticipating the alignment — if
they were even aware of what the configuration would be.
Astronomers generally agree that "it would be impossible the
Maya themselves would have known that," says Susan Milbrath, a
Maya archaeoastronomer and a curator at the Florida Museum of
Natural History. What's more, she says,
"we have no record or knowledge
that they would think the world would come to an end at that
point."
University of Florida anthropologist
Susan Gillespie says the 2012 phenomenon comes,
"from media and from other
people making use of the Maya past to fulfill agendas that
are really their own."
This USA TODAY article is likely just
the beginning… and the chances are that by the time it gets this
far, they already have a situation on their hands, and it's already
much too late to stem the frenzy of 2012 speculation.
Notice how the article uses vague and biased statements, like the
"balancing of masculine and feminine," and references to
"psychedelic drug use," to make it appear that the 2012 scholarship
is entirely based on flimsy evidence. Furthermore, USA TODAY only
quotes Maya scholars who do not see the cycle end-date as having any
special significance.
They obviously did not include John Major Jenkins in their list of
interviewees. We have had him speak at our conferences before, and
he DOES have mainstream credibility as a Mayanologist. His books,
including "Maya Cosmogenesis 2012," make it extremely, redundantly
clear that there are in fact MANY different means in which the Maya
encoded their prophecies about 2012 in frescoes, symbolism and
mythical tales. Much of their writings were lost, but some survived
and were adequately decoded.
There is some room for interpretation, but it is clear that the Maya
believed this was a time of great change and the dawning of a Golden
Age. Jenkins also spoke at our conferences about his travels to
visit and meet with the Quiche' Maya, who avoided the conquistadores
and were able to preserve a linear, unbroken continuity of time
measurement and the prophecies behind it… and they were quite
adamant that 2012 represented a massive, discontinuous change in
life on Earth as we know it… paving the way for a Golden Age beyond
our wildest imagination.
LAWRENCE
JOSEPH GETS PRESS AGAIN…
Interestingly, the article mentions Lawrence Joseph's book. As I
previously wrote in this blog, Joseph appears to have stumbled over
one of thousands of plagiarized copies of an article I originally
released on this website just before 9/11, entitled "A Scientific
Blueprint for Ascension." The bootleg copies removed all the
footnotes, removed my co-author Wynn Free's name as well as my own,
and shortened the text down. This copy then 'went viral' and became
far more popular than the original version.
Joseph appears to have found one of these bootleg versions via a
Google search, and that led him to realize that there IS a very
concrete, measurable phenomenon occurring at this time, which does
indicate that 2012 could be a pivotal moment… namely because we are
seeing the entire Solar System undergoing a fundamental,
rapidly-accelerating energetic change.
Each version of my plagiarized article did feature some of my quotes
about the work of Russian scientist Dr. Aleskey Dmitriev, who was
the first scientist (back in 1997) to write a
comprehensive, public
article about climate changes occurring throughout the entire Solar
System.
I did not have the financial ability to travel and meet with Russian
scientists, or anyone else for that matter… visiting family in the
early years was only thanks to the Adirondack Trailways bus… but
Joseph saw fit to travel to Russia and have Q&A with the scientists
who had performed the original studies. He came away convinced that
their scientific findings are genuine… and again, it shows that 2012
is not just another window of time, it may well represent what all
these Earth Changes have been building up to… an event that will
affect our entire Solar System.
Hardly any of the mainstream 2012 books have kept up with my
research, as I took the same types of phenomena that Dmitriev
pointed out in his paper and found concrete NASA findings that
validated them… and it was all realized in my "Interplanetary Day
After Tomorrow?" series I co-authored with
Richard C. Hoagland. Very
soon we're going to be posting a new, distilled collection of those
findings… so stay tuned for that!
It also is a source of continual surprise for me that no other
authors have picked up on the Law of One series… an allegedly
channeled set of materials, most of which were brought through in
1981, which went into great detail about 2012 and what we could
expect. This included the fact that all Earth Changes as we now know
them would CEASE after this time. More importantly, it said that we
will be a lot safer than many people fear… it is not at all about
doom and gloom, but rather about an amazing future that we are
heading into.
I will be having a LOT more to say about 2012… this just scratches
the surface. I wanted to put something out for you to read while I
give myself a chance to breathe, having been through some pretty
major healing experiences this week that have reflected very
favorably in this morning's dream. It was such a marvelous Ascension
dream that I almost didn't want to write anything today, and just
bask in it… so you'll hear from me again on Monday.
In the meantime, go check out the discussion group. I'm trying to
participate fairly regularly and it has turned this site into a
dynamic, evolving entity with consistently new content on a
day-by-day basis!
